High Point Market, which takes place each spring and fall, is easily the most anticipated week of the season, not only for our team here at Gabby, but for the entire design industry. This event had the city of High Point, N.C., humming with designers and buyers all aflutter with the revealing of the latest trends in home decor.
Some of the top trends of the Spring 2014 High Point Market included modern takes on interesting textures, such as woven furnishings, gilded finishes, details like nailhead trim and geometric patterns, and unique materials. As always, the most exciting part of High Point for us was the opportunity to showcase our newest products inspired by the latest and most in-demand trends. Below is a taste of Gabby’s newest offerings, many of which we showcased at this season’s event.
Glamorous Gild – Our newest line of light fixtures features fabulous gilded finishes that add interest, as well as a sophisticated touch of luxury, or Hollywood Glam as we like to call it. In addition to our chandeliers, pendants and other fixtures, we also offer mirrors and furnishings with gilded finishes to help tie spaces together with style and grace.
Intriguing Nailhead Trim – This popular trim detail was all over this season’s market, and we simply can’t get enough of it. We’ve incorporated nailhead trim into several of our designs here at Gabby. It adds wonderful contrast, while also adding an exciting dash of modernity and edgy interest.
Color – Blues, oranges and purples were popular hues in several showrooms at Market, but here at Gabby the hot color was brass!
Unique Materials & Engaging Patterns- We’re excited to offer new designs that play up the dynamic textures of traditional woven and handcarved furniture by combining materials and finishes for a truly unique look, as well as an incredible array of eye-catching patterns that add movement, geometry and other interesting design elements to interior designs.
For example, our Eleanor Table is made of metal and features a white laquer finish, as well as our unique seagrass resin.
The Highland Side Table features cream vellum (goat skin) and an antique brass finish, but what really stands out in this piece are the geometric shapes formed by the table’s legs, which continue to be popular in transitional designs.
The Jenkins Coffee Table and Jennifer Night Stand showcase our ability to create pieces featuring hybrid materials. The Jenkins Coffee Table features a metal base and a dark cerejeira top, which will create a bit of drama in any room. The Jennifer Night Stand puts a unique spin on the thought of a nightstand, with an antique black metal frame, natural oak drawers and a glass tabletop.
