Geometric designs are a hot trend in home design thanks to the incredible interest and sophistication they can add to interiors. The crisp lines of geometric patterns can enhance contrast and sharpness while curves and shapes can infuse a space with softness, symmetry and movement. It’s a timeless technique for achieving a dynamic look that engages the eye and stimulates the senses.
Our passion for geometry here at Gabby is most certainly reflected in our latest catalog, which offers a wide variety of furnishings and decor to celebrate these powerful shapes and patterns. The Terrance Transitional Chest by Gabby, for instance, is a stunning example of the beauty and simplicity that can be achieved through this timeless design.
This transitional chest combines geometry with carefully-treated natural materials for a look that offers elegant style, as well as tranquility and balance. A vintage-style modular silhouette reminisces postmodern design, while rich classic cerused oak materials ground the piece in traditional roots.
A special technique was employed to oak in order to open the grain in way that allowed for the inlay of an intriguing diamond-shaped pattern across the drawers. The geometric design on the drawers is created with a faux bone material, providing a pretty ivory hue to compliment the natural tones of the oak.
To create a more complete and cohesive look, we used geometric-shaped hardware, which perfectly coordinates with the faux bone pattern.
This chest is empowered by the precise combination of materials and design elements. It’s both eye-catching in its eclectic modernity and refined in its subtly. This piece can be used as a strong focal point in a transitional style bedroom, living room or foyer space where traditional design approaches are enlivened by modern twists.
We’re excited to offer the Terrance Chest, as well as many other eclectic, antique and transitional-style furnishings and lighting that honor geometry in design. To see more of our home design offerings, browse through the product pages of our website or flip through our online catalog.
