At Gabby, we love to show our appreciation for our amazingly loyal customers. Today, we’re spotlighting an individual who has all the qualities of a successful and respected designer. Paloma Contreras, an interior decorator, design blogger and all-out fashionista from Houston, Texas, started her blog, La Dolce Vita, in 2007 as a way to share her specially honed eye for style.
From there, Contreras’ blog turned into an interior design business as demand grew for her expertise. Contreras’ work has been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Better Homes & Gardens, ELLE DECOR, The Washington Post and more. She has also worked on special projects with the likes of Bravo Television, American Express and Hilton Luxury Brands. Through her work as a blogger, editor and decorator, Paloma Contreras has created a polished and effortless aesthetic centered around classic silhouettes, timeless pieces and a masterful integration of color.
Paloma specializes in creating luxurious spaces suited for her clients’ personal tastes and lifestyles. Paloma herself believes that the most beautiful spaces are a pure reflection of the inhabitants’ unique personalities. The aim of La Dolce Vita is to bring a fresh, stylish approach to all aspects of life.
Recently, she designed a home measuring over 6,000 square feet in size. Paloma was charged with updating the overall look of the home as it appeared underdone, outdated and inconsistent with the owner’s personal style. Perfect for all parties involved, the client/designer relationship was such that Paloma had creative freedom in creating a serene, feminine and glamorous space. Paloma filled each room with alluring statement pieces for a dose of charisma and charm.
The project was a huge undertaking, but one that was ultimately quite rewarding for the star designer. The renovation of a large number of rooms was required to complete the project, and the end result is quite stunning. The finished project is cohesive and visually appealing.
Gabby truly admires Contreras’ innovation and nimble approach to design. Her feminine, graceful Texas spirit is certainly reflected in every aspect of her work. We believe you should surround yourself with pieces that speak to you creatively, and that you should embrace each individual’s unique story and aesthetic. Once this is done, you’ll end up creating a look your clients will be proud to showcase.
